Black forest hand-carved cigar box with elaborately carved panels on all four sides. Each of the four corners is intricately carved Acanthus leaves that curve back under the bottom to form legs. This incredibly beautiful piece is surmounted by a hand-carved covey of pheasants. Circa fourth quarter of the nineteenth century.
