An unusual stretched leather fireplace screen in a shield shape and depicting a wooden sailing ship in tones of yellow, red and green. The screen stands on two wooden pedestal support feet and includes a wooden carrying handle at the top. The leather is attached to the frame with large brass studs. This item probably originally was used in a mansion in Butte, Montana. Early 20th century.
